Final assignmentThe last assignment is a "test" on Schoology.
Schoology set up for those of you not already using it. Go to the website https://app.schoology.com/register.php?type=student and create an account. The access code is G8HN-S28H-KG9PK. Just use your school email and password to avoid confusion. (There is also an app if you're using a phone or tablet and don't want to use the web browser for this) If you are already set up on Schoology, you just need to join a new course with the same code G8HN-S28H-KG9PK. I will post the final "test" Wednesday (remember it doesn't count, and you can do it as many times as you want to make sure you've understood what we've gone over in this online math course) If you have any problems setting it up please email me or post on Teams. Report card update: “Grades 9 & 10: Report cards will show that students were enrolled for the reporting periods that ended while schools were closed. No marks will be assigned since the reporting periods are shorter than those for elementary school students. Teachers would not have had the opportunity to review sufficient evidence of learning to be able to fairly evaluate achievement. Work completed during the learning at home period will be recognized by teachers in the report card comments.” What this means for GMF 10: In the comments section on your report card we will indicate if you participated in this online course. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS “TEST” ON SCHOOLOGY. Since some of you were participating on paper and not by submitting online it’s hard to know who all participated, so your completion of this last “test” will show us you did participate. Remember your mark is not important and not what will be on the report card.

Week 7 Assignment (review)Please read Week 7 review questions are posted below. The answer key is also provided to check your answers as you go. Please note that the answer key is from the original version in French, but I've translated what needs to be translated in the answers so they will make sense for all of you. IMPORTANT: ONLINE TUTORIAL TODAY WILL BE AT 1:30 PM INSTEAD OF 11 AM. Sorry for any inconvenience, and don't forget if you can't make it, it will be recorded to watch at your convenience. If you can't make it and you want me to answer a specific question on it, email it to me and I'll answer in the video. Enjoy the sunshine and get outside today for some exercise!
Week 6 Answer KeyPlease correct your work for week 6. Tomorrow (Wednesday) I will post review questions (with answer key) and be available for online tutorial at 11 to go over last week's assignment. Next week: Monday and Tuesday I will be available for an online tutorial and Wednesday I will post the "test" for this section and you will have a week to complete it as many times as you want (on Schoology, I will post instructions for how to access it by next Monday for those of you not already set up).
Week 6 AssignmentWeek 6 assignment is posted, this will be the last assignment with new material. Online tutorial tomorrow at 11am :) Update: there was an error on #4 so I re-uploaded the assignment. It should have said lighthouse... A 150 ft tall lighthouse is at the top of a 200 ft cliff. The angle of depression between the top of the lighthouse and a boat off of the coast is 27°. What is the distance from the base of the lighthouse to the boat?
Week 5 Answer KeyWeek 5 answer keys are posted in the files section of Teams and below. Correct your answers from last week and have questions highlighted and ready to ask at Wednesday's tutorial (or email your questions). Happy sunny Monday!
Week 5 AssignmentWeek 5 is a continuation of trigonometry. This week's videos and questions focus on finding missing angles and then mixed practice of Pythagorean Theorem, and SOH CAH TOA to find missing sides or missing angles. Online tutorial tomorrow, May 6 at 11am (recorded in case you can't make it). *** it is WAY EASIER to write this math out by hand than trying to type it into a word document. Don't worry about turning it in and putting it all in the word document, just get some paper and go to it FYI: next week is the last week of new material, yay! we're almost there I forgot to give you the weekly schedule so here it is: Week 6: Elevation and Depression angles Week 7: Review questions (for everything we've covered online) and tutorials Week 8: Unit "test" (will be on Schoology for you to test yourselves on how much of this you understood, more details to come for those unfamiliar with Schoology) Week 9: NRF review of factoring and y = mx + b (a little extra prep for grade 11) I know it's hard to stay motivated right now, I feel the same with teaching my own kids... hang in there, summer is just around the corner!
Week 4 Answer Key Please correct your work and any leftover questions you have, email me or save them for Wednesday's tutorial. Happy Monday :)
